Designed from real teaching experience

This course was created by Krysti Subieta Edward, founder of Children of Music, after years of working directly with children, families, students, and adult learners.

🎵

Child-centered curriculum

Lessons are sequenced for young beginners so students can experience early success, build confidence, and keep moving forward without overwhelm.

Video-based instruction

Short, accessible lessons help students revisit concepts, practice at their own pace, and continue learning outside of live instruction.

🌱

Confidence and independence

The course supports more than music skills. It helps young learners practice focus, follow-through, self-expression, and joyful persistence.

What this project demonstrates

This course is an example of how live teaching experience can become a scalable digital learning experience with clear structure, student-friendly access, and supportive practice tools.

Curriculum design: turning beginner learning goals into a structured pathway.
Learning technology: delivering lessons through an online environment.
Student motivation: making practice approachable, repeatable, and confidence-building.
Scalable education: creating resources students can access beyond one-on-one instruction.

A note from Krysti

I created this beginner ukulele course to make music feel accessible, joyful, and doable for young learners. My teaching approach is built around the belief that children grow when learning is clear, encouraging, playful, and structured enough to help them succeed.

This project reflects my broader work in curriculum development, coaching, online learning design, and child-centered education.
